Just a quick reminder about the DoCrafts Event at Roseville Street this Saturday.
The fun begins at 10am with Pat Taylor demonstrating their latest ranges which include several Christmas products to get our Christmas in July underway.
We also have Kay Halliwell-Sutton in store to share with you some of her fantastic projects using the wooden Creativ range of products in conjunction with distress inksand acrylic paints.
We also have a few spaces left on Diane Whitehouse's workshop, she will be using the Clarity 'Joy to the World' stamp and also a Tri Shutter card with Magnolia stamps. July Challenge!!!
As we are now in the throws of Summer (hopefully we will have some sun soon) how about a nice summery theme!!
We would like you to create a card, altered item or scrapbook page with a summery theme to it!!!!
As usual the rules are:
- post your entry on your blog with photos and details
- post information about this challenge & prize on your blog and please link back to this post
- leave a comment directly under this post and your name will be entered into the June prize draw!
- you can enter as many times as you wish but we would like to see creations that would be submitted to no more than 3 other challenges.

Molly Blooms Christmas demo day at Embsay

A little reminder that this saturday 2nd July we have Clare Rowland the designer of Molly Blooms joining us at Embsay Mills
Clare will be starting our month of Christmas in July demos, she will be here sharing with you her gorgeous christmas designs and ideas between 10am and 4pm..it's the perfect opportunity to be inspired into kick starting your christmas cards..it's never too early !
We have a couple of places left this Saturday on Virginia Mordleys Srapbooking class...Saturday's course is called Page Decoration and is all about different elements that you can add to your pages to make them more interesting eg: lace, doilies, buttons, flowers, dreamweaver paste, stamping, tissue tape etc.

Magnolia Class with Diane Whitehouse this Saturday
This Saturday 2nd July we have a class with the very talented Diane Whitehouse at our Roseville store. There are still a limited number of places available so if you would like to book you can either give us a call on 0113 248 0044 or call into the store.
The class runs between 10am and 4pm and costs £25. There is also the option of joining us for just the morning or afternoon and making one of the cards rather than both, this will cost £12.50.
Diane will be showing you how to make two beautiful cards, the first is a trifold card using magnolia images and Nestabilities.
The second card will be using Clarity Stamps in order to create an "O" mini frame for your snowy scene which continues onto the background of the card.
Please be aware that background papers and colours may vary slightly from those pictured.

Die cutting demonstration and Marie Curie Tea Party at Brighouse
We have two exciting events on this
Saturday (25th of June) in our Brighouse store
.
The first is a demonstration by Tracy Watson, where she will be demonstrating how to use die cutting machines and various different sorts of dies. She will be using the Cuttlebug, Bigshot and Happy Machine. If you are struggling with any of your dies or just want to learn some new skills and techniques then why not come along. The demonstration is free to attend and lasts from 10am to 4pm.
Our second event is the Brighouse Samuel Taylor Marie Curie Tea Party. This event also lasts from 10am to 4pm, so you can enjoy a drink and some cake whilst watching our brilliant demonstration. We will be providing tea and coffee as well as a selection of cakes and buns. All money raised will be donated to Marie Curie. Please feel free to come along for as long or as little as you like. You are welcome just to have a drink and a chat, or you can bring along your latest project, be it card making, knitting or any other crafts.

Mettler threads with Dawn Cameron-Dick

Quilter/Author/Teacher Dawn Cameron-Dick will be at Embsay Crafts from 11am-4pm on Sunday 26th June to introduce you to Mettler threads.
Sound like watching paint dry?! Not at all! Thread now comes in so many types, sizes and colours that perhaps having a new look at what is available would be fun!
There will be time for one on one discussions with Dawn so she can answer your questions directly! See samples of her work and watch a short demo of Machine Quilting.
You will receive a free hand out explaining needles & threads.

Classes at Brighouse this week
We have two classes with Jo at Brighouse this week, both of which still have a limited number of places available.
The first is:
Saturday 18th June: B.C.E Templates.
10—12:30pm with Jo. Cost is £12.50
Make shaped cards using the templates and new Penny Black stamps. Images will be coloured with copic and promarker pens.
The second is:
Tuesday 21st June: Molly Bloom Stamps
10:30—1pm With Jo. Cost is £12.50
Make three cards stamped with the new Molly Bloom rubber stamps, coloured using the copic pens and using charms for embellishments.
Samples from both classes can be seen instore. If you would like to book on either of the classes you may do this either by calling into our Brighouse store or by giving us a ring on (01484) 401 419 where we are able to take bookings and card payments over the phone.

Events this week at Brighouse
This week at Brighouse
This Saturday we have two classes with Tracy Watson. The topic of these classes is acetate and aperture cards. The two classes will both make the same projects so you can choose between 10 - 12:30pm and 1:30 - 4pm. The cards will be decorated with Martha Stewart Punches and Magonlia stamped images.The cost for the class is £12.50. We have some great samples in our Brighouse store, so why not come along and learn some new techniques.
This Sunday is knitting day! Come along any time between 10 and 3 with your current project, or one you would like to start. We will be in the classroom, with free tea/coffee and biscuits provided. Everybody is welcome, so if your a novice or been knitting for years, why not come along and see what everyone else is up to and possibly learn some new techniques, or just come for a chat.
Tuesday 14th June - Diane Whitehouse will be teaching a class showing you how to make a gift pocket card. The class will run between 10am and 1pm and costs £12.50 to attend. The image below shows the beautiful project you will be creating (please be aware that papers used in the class may differ slightly).

We are so excited to have new tutors joining us at Samuel Taylors this summer ! We have the super talented Kate Crane ( find Kates blog by clicking on her name ) this month to share with you her talent in Art Journaling.
Kate regularly contributes to Craft Stamper magazine, infact her work is on the front cover of the last issue...she has also featured in the Somerset studio Art journaling magazine.
Here are a few examples of her work...
The first class is on Saturday 11th of June and we have very limited places available..
the second class to follow on from this is on Saturday 25th of June and is a more indepth look at Art journaling.. you can find the details for this second class here
Suitable for beginner/intermediate
If you have always wanted to have a go at Art Journalling but don't know where to start then this is the class for you. Kate will gently guide you through the basics from preparing your pages right through to completing a page or two. You will learn how to add colour to a page using acrylic paints, inks and pastels as well as which colours go with which and how to blend them on the page. Kate will give you some tips on how to add images successfully to your pages before you finally add journaling and doodling. But be warned art journaling can become addictive and you may find that once you start you wont be able to stop.
Requirements ? A mole skin sketchbook (A5 or A4) or a spiral bound sketchbook or watercolour book
Fee:27.50 per person including tea, coffee and a buffet lunch.
